‘Lit­tle Ef­fect of De­mon­eti­sa­tion on Hikes’

De­mon­eti­sa­tion might have had an im­pact on busi­nesses, but it had lit­tle ef­fect on salary hikes that com­pa­nies of­fered to staff, a re­cent sur­vey has showed. In­cre­ments al­ways leave a sec­tion of em­ploy­ees un­happy and a ma­jor­ity of the re­spon­dents, all de­ci­sion-mak­ers, in the sur­vey an­tic­i­pate at least one em­ployee in their or­gan­i­sa­tion to quit as a re­sult of dis­sat­is­fac­tion over ap­praisals. Re­cruit­ment firm An­tal In­ter­na­tional Net­work In­dia’s FY2016-17 sur­vey of ap­praisal trends cov­ered 2,329 de­ci­sion-mak­ers in the lev­els of man­agers, VP/AVPs, direc­tors and CEOs across sec­tors like BFSI, auto, man­u­fac­tur­ing, ecom­merce, pharma, re­tail and lo­gis­tics.
