Uber Com­pletes 500m Rides Here

Hy­der­abad: Cab-hail­ing plat­form Uber Tech­nolo­gies, which is present in 29 cities across In­dia, claims to have clocked dou­ble-digit growth in the coun­try and al­most 2.5x year-on-year growth as of June 2017. The com­pany, which launched its ser­vices in In­dia al­most four years ago, also boasts of hav­ing com­pleted 500 mil­lion rides thus far.

“This is a sig­nif­i­cant land­mark for Uber in In­dia,” said Amit Jain, pres­i­dent, Uber In­dia and South Asia. “Four years ago, In­dia was the eigh­teen coun­try in the world to ex­pe­ri­ence the magic of ‘push a but­ton and get a ride’, when we launched in Ben­galu­rue with just three em­ploy­ees. To­day, we’re over a1,000 mem­ber team who share the com­mon vi­sion of re­defin­ing the fu­ture of ur­ban mo­bil­ity.”

The com­pany said that they have a ro­bust pipe­line of new prod­ucts and fea­tures that will be rolled out dur­ing the se­cond half of the year.
