Dadri: There is an air of hap­pi­ness in San­jay Rana’s house in the con­gested lanes of Dadri. His son, Vishal, came home on bail on Fri­day af­ter spend­ing nearly two years in jail for his al­leged role in the mur­der of Mohd Akhlaq in Bishada vil­lage in 2015.

“Please do not click his pic­ture. Vishal has been de­famed and our fam­ily’s rep­u­ta­tion left in tat­ters over this false al­le­ga­tion for which he spent two years of his youth in jail. Who will re­turn these years to him? We don’t want any more news on this,” says Rana. Vishal does not speak much be­sides say­ing he is in­no­cent and was not at the mur­der spot, let­ting his fa­ther do much of the talk­ing.
