Apro­pos the Edit, ‘A Hu­mor­ous Mar­riage of Wit and Perti­nence’ (Aug 4), you missed the best Tay­lor-ed wis­dom of the former diva, “I have al­ways been faith­ful to my hus­bands.” Ev­i­dently, when in­fi­delity called, all you had to do was change the hus­band. Per­haps his­tory should la­bel her hus­bands as El­iz­a­beth I, II and so on till VIII. Henry VIII could, how­ever, only reach VI.
