Alu­minium at 2.5-year Peak on Shut­downs

Alu­minium hit a 2-1/2 year peak on Tues­day, lifted by grow­ing con­cerns over sup­ply cuts in top pro­ducer China and an up­beat as­sess­ment of China’s de­mand growth prospects. Three-month Lon­don Metal Ex­change alu­minium rose 1.6% to $1,994.50 a tonne by 1006 GMT.
