Ses­sions Court Stays Crim­i­nal Defama­tion Case Against Mistry

The ses­sions court on Thurs­day stayed crim­i­nal defama­tion case filed against Tata Group's former chair­man Cyrus Mistry by Tata Trusts' man­ag­ing trustee R Venkatara­manan, re­ports He had sought .₹ 500 crore in dam­ages and an un­con­di­tional apol­ogy. Mistry's move to Ses­sions Court was against or­der is­sued by ad­di­tional chief metropoli­tan mag­is­trate Kr­ishna Palde­war, who had wanted Mistry, his brother and di­rec­tors of their com­pa­nies, Cyrus In­vest­ments and Ster­ling In­vest­ments to ap­pear be­fore the court and ex­e­cute bail bonds.
