Ve­hi­cles’ In­surance can’t be Re­newed Sans PUC Paper: SC

The SC on Thurs­day is­sued a slew of di­rec­tions that in­cluded non­re­newal of in­surance pol­icy of ve­hi­cles un­less the owner pro­vides pol­lu­tion un­der con­trol (PUC) cer­tifi­cate to the in­surance firms. A bench com­pris­ing jus­tices Madan B Lokur and Deepak Gupta took note of the fact that some fuel re­fill­ing out­lets in the NCR did not have the PUC cen­tres. Af­ter the rul­ing, all re­fill­ing cen­tres in NCR will need to have a PUC centre within four weeks.
