Apropos ‘A Little Help From Our Men’ by Elizabeth Broderick (Aug 10). Representation of women on the boards of Indian companies still lags, despite the rule that companies listed on the Indian stock markets must enlist one women. The same has been the case in Parliament where the women’s reservation Bill has been pending for years. The contribution of women (read homemakers) to the country’s GDP has not been a topic of research. The need is also for a change in the hypocritical attitude towards women and that, in turn, calls for a change in society’s mindset.
