Fire­works may Come from Lo­cal Ad­ver­tis­ers

6,916 re­gional brands ad­ver­tised heav­ily in H1 of 2017 and the num­ber may rise in H2

New Delhi: The num­ber of re­gional ad­ver­tis­ers in In­dia is ris­ing, ac­cord­ing to top me­dia buy­ing agen­cies, and they are ex­pected to be big con­trib­u­tors to the Di­wali ad­ver­tis­ing bo­nanza this year.

There was a 7% in­crease in re­gional ad­ver­tis­ers in 2016, ac­cord­ing to Publi­cis Me­dia’s me­di­a­buy­ing arm Star­com. There were 12,027 re­gional ad­ver­tis­ers in 2016 com­pared with 11,278 in 2015.

There were 6,916 re­gional brands that ad­ver­tised ag­gres­sively in the first half of 2017 and the num­ber is ex­pected to in­crease sig­nif­i­cantly in the se­cond half.
