OnePlus Phones to Be Sold Offline through Croma
timesinternet.in Bengaluru: Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus is testing offline handset sales with consumer electronics chain Croma, its first such partnership with a retail chain.
As part of the deal, select Croma stores will start retailing OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 3T smartphones from September 19, OnePlus India general manager Vikas Agarwal told ETtech. It is setting up exclusive experience zones at 10 Croma stores across major cities, including Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi NCR, and Hyderabad.
“The idea is to create more offline touch points that can complement our ‘ online first’ presence,” Agarwal said. “Online has always been our strength and will continue to be our focus. But we feel an offline experience can create lot of comfort in the mind of the customer and can also attract lot of new customers.” Croma’s chief executive Avijit Mitra said, “At Croma, we believe that it’s always good for customers to touch, feel and experience the product before buying it. Our average selling price at Croma is quite high and OnePlus fits in the high end in our portfolio.”
