Sheena Bora murder case: Court rejects Sanjeev Khanna's bail plea

- ●STAFF REPORTER

On Friday, a special CBI court, which is trying the high profile murder mystery of Sheena Bora, rejected the bail application moved by Sanjeev Khanna, one of the accused in the case.

In his bail application, Khanna had trashed the CBI’s claim that he was present at the crime scene during the murder. He had argued that he was in a hotel, and was not present at the crime scene.

The CBI’s case is that Khanna, visited Mumbai in April 2014, to kill 24-year-old Sheena and after murdering her, he fled off to Kolkata.

Despite several arguments put forth by Khanna’s lawyer, Shreyansh Mithare, the statements of Indrani Mukherjea’s former driver Shyamvar Rai nailed him (Khanna).

It may be recalled that Rai, who has now become an approver in the case, has reportedly said that Khanna and Indrani killed Sheena and later disposed her body at Raigad. Khanna, who had applied for bail is in custody since August, last year along with his former wife and main accused Indrani and her current husband and former media baron Peter Mukherjea.

The court had recently extended their custodies till August 1.
