Railways promise on-demand reservation from October
NEW DELHI: Come October, you can get reservation on demand on select long-distance route trains and that too without paying any extra charges. The Railways have selected four routes of Mumbai-Delhi, Mumbai-Howrah, Lucknow-Delhi and Chennai-Delhi for the experiment to be carried out by undertaking a massive capacity augmentation drive in the next four months. If the experiment is successful, it will be implemented pan-India to all long-distance travellers on the premier, mail and express trains by 2020, according to Mohd Jamshed, member traffic in the Railway board.
