Notice to hospital staff
MUMBAI: After the incident of rats biting patients came to light, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has now issued showcause notices to the housekeeping agencies, which look after the cleanliness works in all civic-run hospitals. The civic authority is likely to initiate stern action against agencies which failed to maintain the hospital premises due to which animals like rats, cats and even dogs entered the hospitals. Assistant Municipal Commissioner (AMC) Idzes Kundan informed that despite appointing nine agencies for up-keep the hospitals, it is seen that the premises of hospitals are not at all clean.“We will be removing all the agencies and work will be given to one agency that will be looking after cleanliness and maintenance the hospitals,” said Kundan.
