FARMER SETS PRO­DUCE ON FIRE OVER PRICE

NEEMUCH (MP): A farmer al­legedly set his pro­duce afire at the state's big­gest herbal mar­ket here on Tues­day af­ter he did not get the de­sired price for it, po­lice said. Suresh Dhakad of Dham­nar area brought his basil (tulsi) stalks to sell it in the mandi (mar­ket). He of­fered a min­i­mum price of Rs 490 for a quin­tal of Basil stalks, a se­nior po­lice of­fi­cial said. How­ever, dis­ap­pointed over not find­ing any buyer for his crop at the price which he had quoted, he set ablaze the pro­duce, the of­fi­cer added.
