Cancer patient commits suicide

MUMBAI: Frustrated over his illness, a 33-year-old man committed suicide by hanging himself on a tree adjacent to the railway track at Sable nagar near Kurla (E) on Wednesday morning. The deceased was suffering from cancer. Mahendra Raghuveer Sahu was found hanging from a tree at around 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning. Sahu is a native of Banda at Madhya Pradesh. A suicide note was found from Sahu’s pocket. According to Uttam Kangane, police sub-inspector and investigat­ing officer in this case, “A suicide note was recovered from his pocket. As per the suicide note, Sahu was a cancer patient and was fed up with his life. He had mentioned in the suicide note that he was tired fighting the dreaded disease and did not wish to live. “Sahu was undergoing treatment at Bhabha hospital at Kurla. The body was sent to Rajawadi hospital at Ghatkopar for post-mortem. The police have registered an Accidental Death Record (ADR) in this matter.
