No short­age of funds for tribal wel­fare: Guv

THANE: Ma­ha­rash­tra Gov­er­nor Vidyasagar Rao Satur­day em­pha­sised on speed­ing up work on projects meant for the wel­fare of trib­als in the state. He said there was no dearth of funds for the var­i­ous pro­grammes launched by the state gov­ern­ment for trib­als.

The gov­er­nor was speak­ing at a func­tion at Sa­ha­pur here in Thane district or­gan­isedby the South In­dian Ed­u­ca­tion So­ci­ety (SIES). Rao, who hails from Te­lan­gana and was ap­pointed gov­er­nor in Au­gust 2014, spoke in Marathi at the event where the au­di­ence largely com­prised peo­ple were south In­dia.
