LT Foods ties up with Ja­pan’s snack-maker Kameda Seika

LT Foods has en­tered into a 51:49 joint ven­ture with Ja­panese snack maker Kameda Seika to man­u­fac­ture and mar­ket rice­based snacks in In­dia, a com­pany state­ment said here.

The com­pany ex­pects to lever­age its own strong dis­tri­bu­tion net­work and sup­ply chain to mar­ket in In­dia the “Kari Kari” range, which in­cludes branded snacks in four flavours — Spice Ma­nia, Salt & Pep­per, Wasabi and Chili Gar­lic.

Kameda Seika will pro­vide the tech­nol­ogy for man­u­fac­tur­ing and flavour de­vel­op­ment.

“The com­pany will in­vest around $5 mil­lion in the launch phase and plans to ex­pand its pres­ence across In­dia in the com­ing months,” the state­ment said.

It aims to gen­er­ate rev­enue of $15 mil­lion over five years from the Kari Kari brand.
