The Hindu Business Line - - NEWS - ANIL URS

The resignation of lone Bahujan Samaj party (BSP) MLA and Karnataka Education Minister, N Mahesh, is seen as a setback for the State Congress while his party’s alliance with the JD(S) remains intact. Sources in the party said the BSP which decided not to enter into alliance with the Congress for the forthcoming State elections in North India, had instructed Mahesh to step out of the coalition government in Karnataka. A senior BSP party functionary, who refused to be identified, said “N Mahesh was asked to quit after the BSP broke away from the Congress in North India.”
