ITI bags ₹334-cr Ra­jNet pro­ject

ITI Lim­ited, a pub­lic sec­tor telecom­mu­ni­ca­tions tech­nol­ogy provider, has re­ceived the Let­ter of In­tent (LoI) from Ra­jCOMP Info Ser­vices, a Ra­jasthan Gov­ern­ment un­der­tak­ing, to ex­e­cute the Ra­jNet pro­ject.

As per the pro­ject, ITI is ex­pected to es­tab­lish 40,000 out­door Wi-Fi ac­cess points in Ra­jasthan, with or­der value of ap­prox­i­mately ₹334 crore.

The pro­ject en­vis­ages sup­ply, in­stal­la­tion and main­te­nance of out­door Wi-Fi ac­cess points along with as­so­ci­ated RF Ra­dio equip­ment in six months and op­er­a­tion and main­te­nance of the net­work for five years.

K Alage­san, Chair­man and Man­ag­ing Di­rec­tor, ITI Lim­ited said, “This pro­ject will en­hance the broad­band ac­ces­si­bil­ity in re­mote vil­lages and com­ple­ment the ef­forts of Bharat­net phase-1 and 2 to pro­vide last­mile con­nec­tiv­ity in far-flung ar­eas of the coun­try.”

The Ra­jNet pro­ject will en­sure con­nec­tiv­ity till the Gram Pan­chayat level through mul­ti­ple mech­a­nisms, like, Broad­band, SAT­COM, OTA, LAN, SWAN etc. In Au­gust 2018, ITI was de­clared as L1 (Low­est Bid­der) in the Ra­jNet pro­ject.
