Su­nil Kumar’s re­mand ex­tended

The Chief Ju­di­cial Mag­is­trate court in Er­naku­lam on Wed­nes­day ex­tended the re­mand pe­riod of Su­nil Kumar, aka ‘Pul­sar Suni, in con­nec­tion with the 2011 ac­tor ab­duc­tion bid case till Septem­ber 8. The case per­tains to the ab­duc­tion of a Malay­alam ac­tor from the Er­naku­lam rail­way sta­tion. She was ab­ducted when she had come to Kochi for shoot­ing. On an alert raised by her hus­band, the at­tempt was aborted. Kumar later dropped her at a ho­tel.

The Ju­di­cial First Class mag­is­trate court in Anga­maly had ex­tended the cus­tody of Kumar and all his co-ac­cused in Fe­bru­ary’s ab­duc­tion and sex­ual as­sault case of a woman ac­tor till Septem­ber 13. The hear­ing on a bail ap­pli­ca­tion moved by Kumar in con­nec­tion with the case was com­pleted on Wed­nes­day. The court is set to pro­nounce its judg­ment on Septem­ber 2.

Kavya’s role al­leged

High drama pre­vailed here on Wed­nes­day when Kumar told me­dia per­sons that Kavya Mad­ha­van, wife of ac­tor Dileep, was the ‘madam’ he had been re­fer­ring to in his con­ver­sa­tions. He had hinted at the in­volve­ment of a madam in the case. The Spe­cial In­ves­ti­ga­tion Team, how­ever, said it had no in­for­ma­tion on her in­volve­ment in the case.
