4 days on, Ker­ala govt. doc­tors call off strike

Gov­ern­ment doc­tors in Ker­ala, who have been on strike for four days over the ex­ten­sion in out-pa­tient hours at the newly in­tro­duced Fam­ily Health Cen­tres (FHCs), have with­drawn their protest. The de­ci­sion late on Mon­day fol­lowed talks be­tween Health Min­is­ter K.K. Shy­laja and lead­ers of the Ker­ala Gov­ern­ment Med­i­cal Of­fi­cers’ As­so­ci­a­tion here. Min­is­te­ri­al­level talks would also be held in the first week of May.
