Renowned filmmaker Bharathiraja on Monday alleged that actor Rajinikanth was acting as an ‘emissary’ of Karnataka and warned that he must speak with restraint. Mr. Rajinikanth had condemned the violence against police during the recent protests against the Indian Premier League game in Chepauk. “You didn’t speak up when the Kannada film industry spoke against Tamil interests, when police attacked and chased Tamils, vehicles were destroyed, Tamil drivers were stripped naked and attacked. Despite staying in Tamil Nadu and living a king’s life, you are branding us as violent,” he said.
