Govt aims to pro­vide bet­ter air con­nec­tiv­ity to Raj: Jayant Sinha

UNION Min­is­ter of State for Civil Avi­a­tion Jayant Sinha on Wed­nes­day said the Cen­tre was mak­ing ef­forts to pro­vide bet­ter air con­nec­tiv­ity to Ra­jasthan to boost do­mes­tic and for­eign tourist arrivals in the State. The min­is­ter said the Govern­ment is aim­ing at pro­vid­ing air con­nec­tiv­ity to all ma­jor cities of the State.

Re­cently, Bikaner was di­rectly con­nected to New Delhi and to­day we are throw­ing open the newly con­structed Kis­hangarh Air­port for flight ser­vices, Sinha told re­porters af­ter in­au­gu­rat­ing the air­port.

He said ex­pan­sion of air ser­vices in the state will boost re­li­gious tourism.

Ra­jasthan Chief Min­is­ter Va­sund­hara Raje ac­com­pa­nied Sinha at the in­au­gu­ra­tion cer­e­mony of the air­port lo­cated nearly 105 km from Jaipur.

The air­port will con­nect re­li­gious des­ti­na­tions such as Pushkar and Ajmer Dar­gah which record a large num­ber of do­mes­tic and in­ter­na­tional arrivals. It is a low-cost but ad­vanced air­port with fa­cil­i­ties of do­mes­tic and in­ter­na­tional air­ports else­where in the coun­try, he said. The ter­mi­nal build­ing has six check-in coun­ters. A four- lane road will con­nect it to the Na­tional High­way-8, a pub­lic re­la­tion of­fi­cer of the Govern­ment said.
