Located in Montreal, Canada, Rasoi, as the name suggests is a fusion India-inspired restaurant. Designed in a quirky fashion by Jean de Lessard, the restaurant exhibits vibrant colours, and geometric and organic shapes of the country’s art and culture. A yellow perforated structure that forms the focal point of the design resembles a garbhagriha or the innermost sanctum of the Hindu temple. The patterns seen on the ceiling take inspiration from the ancient art of henna tattoo. The decoration of the ceiling at Rasoi has its source in the plant world. And, when it is about India, how can one miss Bollywood, the chromatic palette chosen is a reflection of the ever vibrant Bollywood.
