Bansal suicide note alleges torture by CBI, agency to probe

Tuesday, almost two months after his 58year-old wife, Satyabala, and 28-year-old daughter, Neha, killed themselves in a similar manner on July 19, three days after he was arrested by the CBI.

Yogesh too, in his suicide note, blamed the CBI for his suicide and held them responsible for the “murder” of his mother and sister.

When the agency’s comments were sought, CBI spokesperson R K Gaur said: “We have today received communication from Delhi Police enclosing therewith the purported hand written notes of Shri B K Bansal, then Dg(ministry of Corporate Affairs), Government of India, and his son Shri Yogesh Bansal. It contains allegations against certain CBI officials in connection with the on-going bribery investigation against Shri B K Bansal and others.”

“We have examined the matter and decided to probe the allegations. CBI is fully committed to conduct investigation in a fair and professional manner without harassment to any one and strictly within the parametersoflaw.ifanyviolationisestablished during the probe, strict action will be taken againstthecbiofficialsconcerned.thecompetent court will be informed,” Gaur said.

Police recovered two suicide notes, a five-page one written by Bansal and a twopage note by Yogesh, dated September 26, 2016, from their flat in Neelkanth Apartments, hours after their bodies were found Tuesday morning. At the Bansal residence in Madhu Vihar, police also found four copies of Bansal’s suicide note, kept in different places across the apartment.

Apart from the DIG, Bansal mentioned the names of an SP, Dy SP, Investigation Officer and an unidentified head constable.

Bansal claimed that the death of his wife and daughter was not a suicide and the Director of CBI should initiate an inquiry against his officers as it was “simply” a case of murder. “They abused, thrashed and mentally tortured my family constantly. They threatened me after saying that they will ruin the life of my family who will be subjected to such torture that they will ask for death but will not get it,” he alleged in his suicide note.

Bansal also alleged that that his wife and daughter had shared the details of “torture” with friends and neighbours before taking their lives. “Even if I was at fault in the case, why were my wife and daughter pushed to suicide? Someone should conduct a lie-detector test on all of them to know the truth,” his note stated.

Bansal’s son Yogesh, in his suicide note, claimed he was “unofficially” subjected to “mental and physical” torture to then extent that he was forced to take such an extreme step. “All the five CBI officials, including the DIG, had unofficially and off-the-record tortured me, my mother and my sister,” Yogesh wrote in his note.

Meanwhile, DCP (East district) Rishi Pal said, “We are not registering any case and have initiated inquest proceedings under Section 174 of CRPC.”
