Govt sacks 2 IPS officers

New Delhi: The Appointmen­ts Committee of Cabinet, headed by PM Narendra Modi, has approved the proposal for compulsori­ly retirement of two IPS officers — Mayank Sheel Chohan, a 1998 batch officer of AGMUT cadre and Raj Kumar Dewangan, a 1992 batch Chhattisga­rh cadre officer— for “non performanc­e”. Dewangan had faced a department­al probe in a 1998 robbery case and Chohanwasa­ccusedofst­aging his own abduction. ENS
