DMRC calls meet, staff protests go on

New Delhi: A day af­ter The In­dian Ex­press re­ported the on­go­ing strike by Metro staff, the DMRC called a meet­ing with the staff coun­cil ask­ing it to end the protest. How­ever, both sides could not come to an agree­ment and the protest is set to con­tinue. Anil Ma­hato, sec­re­tary of the staff coun­cil, said, “They have not given any­thing in writ­ing so we are not agree­ing to their re­quests. They have not agreed to our pri­mary de­mand of an in­crease in the pay grade, and in­crease in the Rs 225 night duty al­lowance, among other de­mands.” The DMRC re­fused to com­ment on the is­sue.
