“Bringing the Outside, Inside!” A phrase popular with builders, developers, interior designers & decorators alike. An idea that evokes a sense of warmth, freshness and excitement all at the same time. A technique used by interior designers through the ages for that quick decorating tool. What is it that makes this such an indispensable technique? The answer is as simple as the tool itself - It is natural! Man has always found comfort in the natural surroundings. Be it a manicured landscape, picturesque garden or even a small patio outside your house, it is the sheer connect to nature that enables your senses to ease into the natural setting that it has created. Bringing the outdoors inside is a phenomenon by which plants & landscapes have been designed to be brought inside the built space and sustain under partially artificial conditions. Now I say ‘designed’ with the utmost importance, because not any plant can be put indoors and be expected to flourish. There is a science behind the selection and organisation of indoor plants that may not necessarily be a herculean exercise to comprehend, but with the help of a simple cheat sheet, almost anyone can achieve a thriving indoor landscape.
