The New Indian Express - - TAMIL NADU -

Chennai: In view of the poor response to the regularisation scheme of unapproved plots, the State has decided to extend it by another six months. The decision was taken at the cabinet meeting, in which it extended the scheme till May 3, 2018. The scheme didn’t evoke a good response due to high penalty charges. It was also decided that unapproved layouts in Chennai Metropolitan Area (CMA) registered before the first master plan for CMA in 1975 will be regularised. In another decision, the cabinet decided to do away with Open Space Reservation charges levied on landowners. ENS
