Thanga­mani re­it­er­ates de­mand for coal al­lo­ca­tion from Cen­tre

Chen­nai: Tamil Nadu Elec­tric­ity Min­is­ter P Thanga­mani on Thurs­day re­it­er­ated the need for the Cen­tre govern­ment to al­lo­cate 72,000 tonnes of coal per day and al­lot­ting 20 rakes per day to TANGEDCO to man­age the present crit­i­cal coal and power sit­u­a­tion. In a let­ter to the Union Min­is­ter for Rail­ways and Coal Piyush Goyal and Min­is­ter of State (IC) for Power and Re­new­able En­ergy, R K Singh, the Elec­tric­ity Min­is­ter sought the Cen­tre to in­struct Coal In­dia Ltd to sup­ply 100 per cent of the link­age quan­tity of do­mes­tic coal from coal com­pa­nies.
