Chennai: Disciplinary action has been initiated against constable Mathiazhagan of Armed Reserve for supporting the jallikattu protest, by addressing the public in uniform at Marina beach 11 months ago. He was posted on duty at Marina beach during the jallikattu protest for two days. He came into limelight, when he took over the mike and addressed the gathering. His videos went viral on social networking sites. The then deputy commissioner of Mylapore, had assured that no action would be taken against the constable for expressing his views. However, six months later, he was called for a departmental enquiry. ENS
