Curfew on, one more killed in fresh clashes, death toll 45
In view of the protests called by separatists after Friday congregational prayers, authorities have beefed up the security to thwart the protests, particularly in Srinagar's old city and district headquarters.
Police and CRPF had blocked by pools of concertina and barbed wires to restrict public movement amidst curfew restrictions. One person was killed and four others were injured in fresh clashes that broke out between protesters and security forces after Friday prayers gatherings in the restive Kashmir Valley. Mushtaq Ahmad was gravely injured in clashes with security forces in Chursoo in Pulwama's Awantipora and was brought dead to a local hospital. Four others were injured in clashes in various places in the Valley. The condition of at least one, a teenager named Asif Reshi from Kakapora in Pulwama, is believed to be critical. Clashes were also reported from Sopore in Baramulla district and Bandipore district in north Kashmir despite restrictions across the Valley.
