Kamaal takes stock of damages by cloudburst
Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamaal additional general secretary J&K National Conference ( NC) visited Thathri in Kisthwar District to take stock of the damage to life and property in the cloud - burst in the intervening night of 20th and July 21, 2017.
Interacting with the locals at site of the catastrophy he was informed that a lane through a locality of Thathri was flooded in the flash flood causing extensive damage to the structures on both sides as also claimed six precious lives four of Nagni, one each of Gandoh and Balgran apart from injuries to 12 persons six from Thathri, four from Bonjwah and one from Gandoh. Thirty sheep is said to have been lost in this tragedy. Dr Kamaal expressed his surprise and dismay when informed that government of the day had failed to respond in any way even two days after the tragedy and that even verbal assurance for relief was not given despite the fact that two ministers of the government had visited the site.
Dr. Kamaal was accompanied by District presidents Doda and Kishtwar Khalid Najeeb Suharwardy and Tanvir Ahmed Kichloo as also MLC and former minister Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo, Mohammad Farooq Mughal, Shamim Ahmed Block president Thathri, Qazi Jalal- Ud- Din vice president and other office bearers of the area of National Conference and a large number of local people.
