Ka­maal takes stock of dam­ages by cloud­burst

Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Ka­maal ad­di­tional gen­eral sec­re­tary J&K Na­tional Con­fer­ence ( NC) vis­ited Thathri in Kisth­war Dis­trict to take stock of the dam­age to life and prop­erty in the cloud - burst in the in­ter­ven­ing night of 20th and July 21, 2017.

In­ter­act­ing with the lo­cals at site of the catas­tro­phy he was in­formed that a lane through a lo­cal­ity of Thathri was flooded in the flash flood caus­ing ex­ten­sive dam­age to the struc­tures on both sides as also claimed six pre­cious lives four of Nagni, one each of Gan­doh and Bal­gran apart from in­juries to 12 per­sons six from Thathri, four from Bon­jwah and one from Gan­doh. Thirty sheep is said to have been lost in this tragedy. Dr Ka­maal ex­pressed his surprise and dis­may when in­formed that gov­ern­ment of the day had failed to re­spond in any way even two days after the tragedy and that even ver­bal as­sur­ance for re­lief was not given de­spite the fact that two min­is­ters of the gov­ern­ment had vis­ited the site.

Dr. Ka­maal was ac­com­pa­nied by Dis­trict pres­i­dents Doda and Kishtwar Khalid Na­jeeb Suhar­wardy and Tan­vir Ahmed Kichloo as also MLC and for­mer min­is­ter Sa­j­jad Ahmed Kichloo, Mo­ham­mad Fa­rooq Mughal, Shamim Ahmed Block pres­i­dent Thathri, Qazi Jalal- Ud- Din vice pres­i­dent and other of­fice bear­ers of the area of Na­tional Con­fer­ence and a large num­ber of lo­cal peo­ple.
