The Northlines - - STATE - NL Correspondent Jammu Tawi, Jul 23

National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) on Sunday urged to raise issue of regularization of nearly sixty one thousands daily rated workers working in the various departments of the State government in current monsoon session of parliament. So that working class could get sigh of relief. Addressing the meeting, Subash Shastri, president NMC appealed to these parliamentarians to raise the issue of granting of special package to tune of Rupees 9000 cores to ward off expenses on account of regularization and payment of arrears of 7th pay commission to the employees of the state Govt. and pensioners in one go. He suggested that a delegation of parliamentarians from Jammu & Kashmir should visit Prime Minister residence to draw home the point besides Union Finance Minister.

He reminded these parliamentarians and representatives that sixty one thousand daily rated workers, nearly 4,50000 state government employees and 1,00000 pensioners gave a clear mandate on this and other issue which paved the way for them to get elected to parliament. They should not ignore these sentiments. The workers and employee constituency commands nearly 80% of the total electorate, he added.

Shastri also pleaded the cause of both centre as well as state government employees and pensioners, demanding at least 7% DA due from July 1,2017 to be released in favor of the employees of the state government and pensioners in view of sharp increase in the prices of essential commodities and inflation.
