'In­fra upgra­da­tion to aug­ment power supply in bor­der ar­eas'

Min­is­ter for PHE, Ir­ri­ga­tion and Flood Con­trol Sham Lal Choud­hary to­day said that req­ui­site steps are un­der­way to pro­vide trans­form­ers and other in­fra­struc­ture to aug­ment power supply in every vil­lage in Suchet­garh so that peo­ple don't face any dif­fi­culty dur­ing the sum­mer sea­son.

The Min­is­ter said this while ad­dress­ing the gath­er­ing dur­ing a pub­lic griev­ance re­dres­sal camp at Suchet­garh.

The vil­lagers hail­ing from Rang­pur Malana, Korotana Khurd, Dable­har, Kotli Rahiyaan, Sai Camp, Flora, Sa­triyan and other ad­join­ing vil­lages ap­prised the Min­is­ter that they are fac­ing dif­fi­cult sit­u­a­tions due to power cuts and fluc­tu­a­tion in elec­tric­ity supply. They de­manded that ex­ist­ing trans­form­ers and elec­tric­ity poles should be re­placed with the new ones for aug­ment­ing power supply in their vil­lages. The vil­lagers also raised their de­mands re­lated to wa­ter supply, road connectivity, con­struc­tion of lanes and drains, san­i­ta­tion, health­care, ed­u­ca­tion and other re­lated is­sues.

The Min­is­ter said the gov­ern­ment has taken var­i­ous path-break­ing steps for im­prov­ing power supply in the bor­der vil­lages and as­sured them that all their de­mands would be ad­dressed in a time bound manner. He fur­ther said that the gov­ern­ment is mak­ing con­certed ef­forts to im­prove the liv­ing stan­dards of the peo­ple of bor­der vil­lages and special fo­cus would be laid on up­lift of poor, women, youth, farm­ers and down­trod­den sec­tions of the so­ci­ety.
