Priya ded­i­cates hand pumps to pub­lic

In or­der to pro­vide potable wa­ter to peo­ple of vil­lage Garnari in dis­trict Kathua and ease prob­lems of women folk who had to trek miles to get wa­ter, Min­is­ter of State for Ed­u­ca­tion, Tech­ni­cal Ed­u­ca­tion, Cul­ture, Tourism, Hor­ti­cul­ture, Flori­cul­ture & Parks Priya Sethi to­day ded­i­cated two hand pumps to the vil­lagers.

Speak­ing on the oc­ca­sion, Priya Sethi said that Prime Min­is­ter Naren­dra Modi is keen to raise so­cioe­co­nomic sta­tus of peo­ple es­pe­cially those liv­ing in ru­ral ar­eas. The Min­is­ter said that the cen­tral and state gov­ern­ment have ini­ti­ated sev­eral wel­fare schemes for en­sur­ing a bet­ter liv­ing stan­dard of the peo­ple and it is be­cause of pro­vi­sions un­der var­i­ous schemes aimed at ru­ral de­vel­op­ment that we were able to sanc­tion hand pumps to fill de­mand­sup­ply gap in such ar­eas

She in­structed ADC Kathua to hold a camp in the vil­lage for en­roll­ment of el­i­gi­ble house­holds un­der Ujwalla Scheme. Later, Priya Sethi met a num­ber of del­e­ga­tions dur­ing her tour and asked ADC to make DPRS for the preser­va­tion of wa­ter pond lo­cated in the vil­lage. She also in­structed to con­struct a bath­room near the pond for con­ve­nience of lo­cals and also pre­serv­ing wa­ter­body from get­ting con­tam­i­nated. Di­rec­tions for post­ing of a reg­u­lar Urdu Teacher in the Mid­dle School were also is­sued.

Se­nior leader Mamta Singh also ad­dressed the gen­eral pub­lic.

ADC Kathua, Dr. Bharat Bhushan, CHO Hor­ti­cul­ture, Jeet Lal, SDM, So­han Lal Sharma, Ex­ec­u­tive Engi­neer, Ground Wa­ter Drilling Di­vi­sion and oth­ers were present on the oc­ca­sion.
