Work­shop for cur­ricu­lum de­sign­ing in­au­gu­rated

Cen­tral University of Kash­mir (CUK) Vice-chan­cel­lor, Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir to­day in­au­gu­rated a one- day work­shop for "de­sign­ing cur­ricu­lum, struc­ture/course con­tents of Pro­gramme," or­gan­ised by the De­part­ment of Man­age­ment Stud­ies at Nowgam-ii ad­min­is­tra­tive cum academic block here. Dean School of Busi­ness, Prof. S Fayyaz, Reg­is­trar, University of Kash­mir, Prof. Khur­sheed Ahmad Butt, Pro­fes­sor of Com­merce, University of Al­la­habad, Prof. S A An­sari, Head De­part­ment of Com­merce, Guru Nanak Dev University, Prof. Jas­pal Singh, Head De­part­ment of Man­age­ment Stud­ies, CUK, Prof. Fa­rooq Ahmad Shah, Di­rec­tor Ad­mis­sions CUK, Prof. Ab­dul Gani, Pro­fes­sor of Com­merce, De­part­ment of Com­merce, University of Kash­mir, Prof. S M Shafi, other fac­ulty mem­bers of the de­part­ment of Man­age­ment Stud­ies were also present.

Speak­ing on the oc­ca­sion, ViceChan­cel­lor, Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir asked the par­tic­i­pat­ing ex­perts to de­vise the cur­ricu­lum for Masters in Com­merce pro­gramme, which would be dif­fer­ent to that of­fered by other higher ed­u­ca­tional in­sti­tu­tions for the same course in the State of Jammu and Kash­mir. Dean School of Busi­ness Stud­ies, Prof. S Fayyaz while ad­dress­ing the par­tic­i­pants said the in­dus­trial, busi­ness fi­nan­cial and other al­lied sec­tors direly need can­di­dates with Com­merce back­ground. Head of the De­part­ment, Man­age­ment Stud­ies, Prof. Fa­rooq Ahmad Shah said the course struc­ture for the would in­clude the newly in­tro­duced Goods and Ser­vices Tax (GST) and com­put­er­ized ac­count­ing. "These two sub­jects are be­ing in­tro­duced for the first time in the Com­merce cur­ricu­lum," he said. Dean Stu­dents Wel­fare, Dr. Fayaz A Nikka pro­posed the vote of thanks.
