Law and or­der sce­nario re­viewed

To as­sess the law and or­der sit­u­a­tion in Zaina­pora area of Shopian fol­low­ing the death of a mi­nor girl, MLA Wachi Ai­jaz Mir, DDC Shopian & SSP Shopian held a joint meeting with the pub­lic.

SDPO, Tehsil­dar be­sides civil so­ci­ety mem­bers from the area also attended the meeting.

The par­tic­i­pants while in­ter­act­ing with the dig­ni­taries high­lighted var­i­ous is­sues of pub­lic im­por­tance and ex­pressed an­guish over the tragic death of the mi­nor girl which led to protests in the area.

The MLA while speak­ing to the cit­i­zens ex­pressed deep con­do­lences and sym­pa­thy with the be­reaved fam­ily. He ap­pealed the lo­cals to main­tain peace and calm in the area so that de­vel­op­men­tal im­per­a­tives could main­tain pri­macy and vi­sion of Chief Min­is­ter Ms Me­hbooba Mufti for up­lift­ment of down­trod­den peo­ple gets fil­lip.

The DDC as­sured the par­tic­i­pants that jus­tice will pre­vail and law will take its own course of ac­tion against the cul­prits. He ap­pealed the pub­lic not to take law in their hands and best pos­si­ble ef­forts should be made to main­tain law and or­der in the dis­trict.

He asked the ex­e­cut­ing agen­cies to take up those works on pri­or­ity al­ready de­manded by the pub­lic dur­ing the Pub­lic Con­tact Pro­grammes at var­i­ous pieces.
