Re­stric­tions un­der seven Po­lice Sta­tions in Sri­na­gar

Class work in Schools, Col­leges will re­main sus­pended

The au­thor­i­ties here on Thurs­day de­cided to im­pose re­stric­tions in Sri­na­gar ar­eas fall­ing un­der the ju­ris­dic­tion of seven Po­lice Sta­tions in wake of the protest call given the Joint Re­sis­tance Lead­er­ship (JRL).

The au­thor­i­ties have also de­cided to sus­pend the class work in the schools and col­leges across the Val­ley. An of­fi­cial of the district ad­min­is­tra­tion told KNS that the re­stric­tions un­der sec­tion 144 CRPC will be im­posed in Sri­na­gar ar­eas fall­ing un­der the ju­ris­dic­tion of seven Po­lice Sta­tions.

"Ar­eas fall­ing un­der Rainawari, Nowhatta, Khan­yar, Safa Kadal and M R Gunj Po­lice Sta­tions will re­main un­der tight re­stric­tions while the ar­eas fall­ing un­der two Po­lice Sta­tions in­clud­ing Kral Khud and Maisuma will re­main un­der re­stric­tions par­tially," he said.

The of­fi­cials also in­formed that the class work in schools as well as in the col­leges will re­main sus­pended for the sec­ond con­sec­u­tive day on Fri­day.

Per­ti­nently, the Joint Re­sis­tance Lead­er­ship (JRL) has ap­pealed peo­ple to protest af­ter Fri­dayprayers against the grow­ing in­ci­dents of mys­te­ri­ous braid chop­ping in Kash­mir.

The JRL has also termed such acts as an at­tack on women's dig­nity'.
