Students held protest against ACR Kishtwar for disrespecting national anthem
DC initiates probe
The students of Kishtwar Model Higher Secondary Boys School today staged a strong protest against ACR Kishtwar Mohammed Syed Khan for allegedly showing disrespect over national anthem.
The students held protest when they observed Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Kishtwar Mohammed Syed Khan left the assembly and entered school office to check arrivals when all were in a standing position to give respect and honour over anthem. The students alleged that
Revenue (ACR) Kishtwar went in the premises of school for checking the attendance of teachers at around 10:15 am when he visited there on Thursday, but ACR left the assembly without dedicating a minute of standing position on the spot and even misbehaved with teaching staff which creates a scene of panic among students against officer. After this, the student over the behavior of ACR staged a strong protest against him in the premises of school.
Meanwhile, SHO Kishtwar along with other senior officers came on the spot for the purpose of controlling the situation but could not control it and started mild Lathi charge against student which creates much panic among students, however few students and a teacher identified as Sandeep Rathore got injured.
Akshay Goswami, NSUI leader Kishtwar said, "We are demanding strict action against the police officers for lath charging against students and strict action against this officer for disrespecting national anthem."
Congress leader, Randeep Bhandari said, "We want an inquiry against the incident and an apology of ACR for disrespecting national anthem. He also condemned the police action on students."
However, ACR, Kishtwar has refute the allegations said, "I had no intention to disrespect the national anthem, I myself had hoisted national flag and sang national anthem several times, but today may be due to pressure I did not heard the national anthem in morning prayers and unintentionally I entered the office for surprised checking, but a scene was created by teachers and they even instigate students to create law and order problem, despite I apologized to defuse the tension."
However, Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana has initiate a probe into the incident by appointing Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kishori Lal as inquiry head and asked him to submit the report within 15 days.
