Grenade lobbed at Beauty Par­lour in Pul­wama

Sus­pected mil­i­tants Thurs­day lobbed a grenade on a Beauty Par­lour in South Kash­mir's Pul­wama district that ex­ploded with a bang dam­ag­ing the front show of the Par­lour. The Par­lour is sit­u­ated at the busy Ra­j­pora Chowk in the district. Po­lice sources in­formed news agency CNS that the grenade ex­ploded out­side the Par­lour. They said at the time of ex­plo­sion few vis­i­tors were present in the Par­lour who es­caped un­hurt, how­ever, a girl suf­fered mi­nor in­juries. Wit­nesses said that shortly af­ter the in­ci­dent, govern­ment forces rushed to spot to take stock of the sit­u­a­tion, how­ever, group of youth hurled stones on them, lead­ing to clashes. The clashes dis­rupted nor­mal life in Ra­j­pora Chowk. Forces used tear-smoke shells to dis­perse the rock hurl­ing youth. The shop­keep­ers in the area low­ered their shut­ters while life re­mained nor­mal in other parts of the district. (CNS)
