VMC meet­ing held

District De­vel­op­ment Com­mis­sioner, Rajouri and Chair­man Vi­dalya Man­age­ment Com­mit­tee, to­day chaired the an­nual Vi­dalya Man­age­ment Com­mit­tee (VMC) meet­ing at Jawahar No­vadya Vi­dalya, Koter­anka.

A cul­tural pro­gramme and in­ter­ac­tive ses­sion was also or­gan­ised on the oc­ca­sion. The VMC de­cided a num­ber of pend­ing is­sues and mea­sures for in­fras­truc­tural and de­vel­op­men­tal needs of cam­pus. An amount of Rs 10 Lakh was also sanc­tioned for man­ag­ing in­fras­truc­tural gaps of vi­tal na­ture.

It was de­cided in the meet­ing that PHE Depart­ment will pro­vide ad­di­tional water sup­ply line to JNV Cam­pus. De­mands re­lated to pro­vi­sion of 2 ad­di­tional hand pumps, com­ple­tion of fenc­ing, re­moval of en­croach­ments, black­top­ping of ap­proach road were also dis­cussed. Of­fi­cers and mem­bers of VMC com­mit­ted time­line for var­i­ous works. A stretch of 2 KM road will be black­topped by PWDIN one month while RDD con­struct a tiled path, water har­vest­ing tank and sports sta­dium for girl stu­dents near hos­tels. VMC also de­lib­er­ated on steps to be taken for un­in­ter­rupted power sup­ply to cam­pus by ad­di­tional fi­nan­cial al­lo­ca­tion for sep­a­rate feeder.

The DDC while chair­ing the meet­ing di­rected Ru­ral De­vel­op­ment Depart­ment to con­struct an al­ter­na­tive link road from JNV Cam­pus to Main road un­der CDF of MLA Darhal. This will shorten the dis­tance by 8KM. He also di­rected for hold­ing of monthly med­i­cal check-up camp, reg­u­lar Par­ent-teacher meet­ings and re­view of in­fras­truc­tural projects. A hos­tel build­ing com­pris­ing 144-bed­ded ac­com­mo­da­tion in 3 blocks con­structed by CPWD at a cost of Rs 2.77 crore was also in­au­gu­rated by the VMC Chair­man.

Later, the DDC held an in­ter­ac­tive ses­sion with stu­dents for more than 2 hours and re­sponded to their se­ries of ques­tions. He in­formed the stu­dents that district ad­min­is­tra­tion will open a Ca­reer Coun­selling Cen­tre at JNV for reg­u­lar guid­ance of stu­dents and monthly aware­ness pro­grammes will be or­gan­ised. He also in­formed that district ad­min­is­tra­tion will pro­vide 500 chairs and tents for out­door events of stu­dents.

Prin­ci­pal JNV Rakesh Meena made a de­tailed pre­sen­ta­tion. More than 500 stu­dents par­tic­i­pated in the event and also pre­sented a host of cul­tural items.
