Busi­ness fest 'Spark 2017' or­ga­nized at BGSBU


School of Man­age­ment Stud­ies, Baba Ghu­lam Shah Badshah Univer­sity, Rajouri or­ga­nized a one day busi­ness fest "Spark -2017" at its cam­pus in Rajouri.

Teams from dif­fer­ent uni­ver­si­ties and col­leges of the State, such as from Busi­ness School, Univer­sity of Kash­mir; Busi­ness School, Cen­tral Univer­sity of Kash­mir; Busi­ness School, South Cam­pus Univer­sity of Kash­mir; Kathua Cam­pus, Univer­sity of Jammu and Is­lamia Col­lege par­tic­i­pated in var­i­ous ac­tiv­i­ties in the day long pro­gramme. Prof Javed Musar­rat, Vice Chan­cel­lor, BGSB Univer­sity in­au­gu­rated the fest. Speak­ing on the oc­ca­sion, he said that BGSBU and its fa­cil­i­ties and in­fra­struc­ture are open for the bet­ter­ment of stu­dents from other in­sti­tutes and he would like that the gates of other in­sti­tutes are also kept open for the stu­dents of BGSBU. He ad­vised the stu­dents of BGSBU and the par­tic­i­pat­ing in­sti­tutes to in­ter­act with each other and learn new things.

Ear­lier, Prof Naseem Ahmed, Dean School of Man­age­ment Stud­ies, pre­sented the wel­come ad­dress. He ap­praised the gath­er­ing about the ini­tia­tives of the School for all over de­vel­op­ment of the stu­dents. He high­lighted his vi­sion of trans­form­ing the School of Man­age­ment Stud­ies as an epit­ome of ex­cel­lence in busi­ness ed­u­ca­tion and re­search. Speak­ing on the oc­ca­sion, Prof Iqbal Parvez, Regis­trar BGSB Univer­sity, in­formed that the Univer­sity shall soon con­sti­tute var­i­ous Clubs which shall or­ga­nize dif­fer­ent pro­grammes reg­u­larly and all the stu­dents with tal­ent will get a proper plat­form to nur­ture their tal­ent.

In the day long events, stu­dents par­tic­i­pated in var­i­ous com­pe­ti­tion based events like Ad -Mad Show, Cap­ture It, Tagline, Word Sword, Logo For­ma­tion, Mar­ket Kshetra, Biz Quiz­itive and Cor­po­rate cor­po­rate. The sig­nif­i­cant high­light of 'Spark 2017' was an event named 'Mar­ket Kshetra', in which the money earned by the par­tic­i­pat­ing team was col­lected and used to buy books and sta­tionery, which was do­nated to the small girls of 'Nari Nikai­tan; an Or­phan­age. The over­all cham­pi­onship tro­phy of the fest was bagged by Cen­tral Univer­sity of Kash­mir by se­cur­ing first po­si­tion in five out of eight con­tests. The pro­grame was co­or­di­nated by Mamta Chowd­hary and the vote of thanks at the in­au­gu­ral and vale­dic­tory was given by Vi­nay Ku­mar and Dr Parvez Ab­d­hulla, re­spec­tively.
