PDC daily wa­gers on in­def­i­nite hunger strike

Jammu Kash­mir State Power De­vel­op­ment Cor­po­ra­tion (JKSPDC) Daily Wa­gers Union un­der the lead­er­ship of Ashok Singh Rana went on in­def­i­nite hunger strike on Thurs­day. The ag­i­tat­ing pro­tes­tors said that till the State Govern­ment and JKPDC ful­fill their de­mands they will not end their hunger strike. Pro­test­ers raised slo­gans against State Govern­ment, JKSPDC and de­manded reg­u­lar­i­sa­tion of daily wa­gers who were en­gaged for the last more than 15 years. They said the govern­ment should ful­fill their de­mands at the ear­li­est. Ad­dress­ing the gath­er­ing, Rana said that many times the union ap­proached the higher au­thor­i­ties but noth­ing has been done so far. He warned if their de­mands are not ful­filled at the ear­li­est, they will come on roads with their fam­i­lies and will also stop the Bagli­har project.
