Ganga meets his As­sam coun­ter­part

On his visit to As­sam on Wed­nes­day, the Min­is­ter for In­dus­tries and Com­merce, Chan­der Parkash Ganga, met his coun­ter­part in the state Chan­der Mo­han Pa­to­wary, who also holds the charge of Trans­port and Par­lia­men­tary Af­fairs min­istries.

Rep­re­sent­ing states with pe­cu­liar ge­o­graph­i­cal and eco­nomic sit­u­a­tions in the coun­try, the two Min­is­ters had a de­tailed dis­cus­sion on the pat­tern and is­sues of in­dus­trial growth in Jammu & Kash­mir and As­sam. Mo­han Pa­to­wary, while speak­ing on the oc­ca­sion, said As­sam has seen sig­nif­i­cant progress in the in­dus­tries sec­tor over the years, be­ing cur­rently in­volved in ma­te­ri­al­iz­ing Ease of Do­ing Busi­ness so that more in­dus­trial houses are at­tracted to the State. Ganga, on the other hand, pre­sented the In­dus­trial Pol­icy of J&K to his As­sam coun­ter­part, in­form­ing him of key de­vel­op­ments and steps taken by the State govern­ment to boost in­dus­trial de­vel­op­ment in the State. He also ap­prised him of work­ing of dif­fer­ent de­part­ments and PSUS un­der the Min­istry of In­dus­tries and Com­merce in J&K. The J&K Min­is­ter for In­dus­tries & Com­merce also called for hold­ing joint ex­hi­bi­tions of hand­i­crafts and hand­looms at dif­fer­ent places in the two states.

The Min­is­ters also dis­cussed means to ex­plore pos­si­bil­i­ties of at­tract­ing in­vest­ments to their re­spec­tive states. On the oc­ca­sion, Ganga in­vited Mo­han Pa­to­wary to visit Jammu & Kash­mir.
