DFCO de­stroys adul­ter­ated food

Drugs and Food Con­trol Or­ga­ni­za­tion, Jammu & Kash­mir to­day con­ducted a spe­cial drive to en­sure avail­abil­ity of safe and whole­some food ar­ti­cles to the con­sumers on the eve of en­su­ing Di­wali fes­ti­val. Dur­ing the in­spec­tion, 37 sam­ples of Khoya, Ladoo, Mathi, Burfi, Gu­lab Ja­mun, Patisa, Peetha, Milk Cake, Rus­gulla, Re­fined Pal­mo­live etc were lifted and five (05) liters of Lassi was found in in­san­i­tary con­di­tion. More­over 20 Kgs of Spring Roll/pakoda, 10 kgs of rot­ten Tomato, 270 kgs of milk, 184 kgs of sweets and 10 kgs of Khoya were de­stroyed on the spot.

The in­spec­tion was car­ried out in the dif­fer­ent mar­kets of Mu­nic­i­pal Lim­its Jammu, District Kathua, District Samba and District Doda. A chal­lan has also been rec­om­mended against M/S In­dia Fast Food, Bus Stand Jammu for run­ning his busi­ness in in­san­i­tary con­di­tion. Drugs and Food Con­trol Or­ga­ni­za­tion author­ity di­rected all food sell­ers to main­tain high stan­dards of san­i­tary and hy­gienic con­di­tions of their es­tab­lish­ments so as to guar­an­tee safe and whole­some food to the gen­eral pub­lic.
