Func­tion­ing of SFC re­viewed Cor­po­ra­tion earns Rs 55.42 cr rev­enue against 8.85 lakh cft's tim­ber sale

The Jammu and Kash­mir State For­est Cor­po­ra­tion (JKSFC) has earned an amount of Rs 55.42 crore up to end­ing Septem­ber 2017, from sale of 8.85 Lakh cft's of tim­ber to the con­sumers of S& M Cir­cle Kash­mir dur­ing the cur­rent year.

This in­for­ma­tion was given by the Cor­po­ra­tion in a meet­ing held un­der the Chair­man­ship of Min­is­ter of State for For­est, En­vi­ron­ment, An­i­mal & Sheep Hus­bandry, Fish­eries and Co­op­er­a­tive, Mir Za­hoor Ah­mad here to­day. The meet­ing was con­vened to re­view the over­all ac­tiv­i­ties of the SFC be­sides tak­ing stock of tim­ber and fire­wood stock po­si­tion in the Kash­mir Di­vi­sion. The au­thor­i­ties of JKSFC briefed the meet­ing about the func­tion­ing and fi­nan­cial achieve­ments reg­is­tered by the Cor­po­ra­tion. de­tailed dis­cus­sions were also held on sup­ply po­si­tion of fire­wood, sale and auc­tion of tim­ber, bud­getary sup­port, mark­ing fallen trees, trans­porta­tion and ex­trac­tion of tim­ber, be­sides labour com­po­nent. While re­view­ing stock po­si­tion of tim­ber at dif­fer­ent Sale De­pots, it was in­formed in the meet­ing that 4.95 lakh cft, tim­ber has been dumped, 4.25 lakh tim­ber sold to the con­sumers and 10902 con­sumers ben­e­fited in Kash­mir re­gion dur­ing 2017-2018. Ad­dress­ing the meet­ing, the Min­is­ter asked the con­cerned to work with ut­most ded­i­ca­tion and en­sure timely dis­tri­bu­tion of tim­ber among the needy con­sumers on first cum first serve ba­sis. He fur­ther in­structed the of­fi­cials to ad­here to the tar­gets given to them and called for adopt­ing in­no­va­tive meth­ods and pro­vid­ing fa­cil­ity to con­sumers at their doorsteps to make the SFC more ef­fec­tive, peo­ple-friendly and prof­itable. Mir Za­hoor called for for­mu­lat­ing abridge sys­tem for dis­tri­bu­tion of tim­ber among the con­sumers so that they don't face any in­con­ve­nience while sanc­tion­ing tim­ber. Chief Gen­eral Man­agers and Divi­sional Man­agers of SFC were present in the meet­ing.
