Griev­ance Cell con­ducts clean­li­ness drive

A Joint team of Sri­na­gar Mu­nic­i­pal Com­mit­tee, Lakes and Lake and Water De­vel­op­ment Author­ity, Depart­ment of Flori­cul­ture and of­fi­cials of JK CM"S Griev­ance cell on Thurs­day con­ducted a clean­li­ness drive in Shal­i­mar vil­lage and re­stored an age old pond in the area.

The clean­li­ness drive was launched af­ter a del­e­ga­tion from Ara­bal vil­lage of Shal­i­mar ap­proached Co­or­di­na­tor of Chief Min­is­ters' Griev­ance Cell Tasaduq Mufti with the re­quest to in­ter­vene in restor­ing an old pond in their lo­cal­ity which is very pa­thetic con­di­tion.

Tak­ing cog­ni­sance, the Griev­ance cell con­sti­tuted a team of of­fi­cers and work­ers of SMC, LAWDA, of Flori­cul­ture and Griev­ance cell to take nec­es­sary ac­tion re­gard­ing the is­sue AN of­fi­cial spokesper­son said the team led by Li­ai­son of­fi­cer Im­ran Malik con­ducted a day-long clean­li­ness drive in the vil­lage and evis­cer­ated all the pol­lu­tants from pond and made it clean again.

The team also or­ga­nized an aware­ness camp re­gard­ing clean­li­ness of the pond and vil­lage, chil­dren and adults from the vil­lage in huge num­ber par­tic­i­pated the camp and also the clean­li­ness drive.

The res­i­dents of the vil­lage ex­pressed their hearti­est grat­i­tude to Co­or­di­na­tor Griev­ance Cell, Tas­saduq Mufti and the team con­sti­tuted for the ac­tion taken so im­me­di­ately. Mean­while, Tas­saduq Mufti also re­quested SMC and LAWDA to in­stall dust­bins and to iden­tify dump­ing sites in the vil­lage so that fu­ture pol­lu­tion can be pre­vented.
