WWPHEEA celebrates Vishwakarma Day
The water works (PHE) Employees Association Jammu Province celebrated the "Vishwakarma Day" at Kunjwani workshop of PHE ground water & drilling division under the chairmanship of Sh. Shiv Kumar Sharma the provincial president of the association who is also the state president of Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC). After pooja the chief guest highlighted the iconic life of Bhagwan Vishwakarma Ji. He described "His" contribution to the society very relevant for the development of the world all over even today, and "Taught the society to work with skill, innovation and dedication" Chief Guest said. The INTUC president Shiv Kumar Sharma while speaking on the auspicious occasion said the working classes from the public sectors as well as the private sectors are denied their justified wages in accordance with their hard work and skill. The workers working in the PHE department for the last 20-25 years are being neither regularized nor their monthly wages are being paid regularly. "They are paid their wages for a month or two only once a twice a year as a result of which their wages are inpendency fro 40-50 months," Sharma said. Expressing surprise and anguish over the fact that the wages of the daily wagers were not released even on the occasion of diwali, he argued how their families would have celebrate diwali whereas their children expected much more form them. Concluding the function Shiv Kumar Sharma appealed the workers and employees to be honest towards their duties. He thanked all the participants on behalf of his colleagues and workers. Preeti Bhojan (Prasad) was also arranged for the working fraternity.
