CEC in­spects snow clear­ance work on Kargil-srinagar road


Chair­man and Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Coun­cilor Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan con­vened a meet­ing at the Coun­cil Sec­re­tariat here to­day in or­der to re­view the po­si­tion of snow clear­ance work on the KargilSri­na­gar Road

Ex­ec­u­tive Coun­cilor for R&B Nasir Hus­sain Mun­shi and Project Vi­jayak au­thor­i­ties also par­tic­i­pated in the meet­ing. It was de­cided in the meet­ing to de­ploy one dozer from zero point to In­dia gate to ease up the snow clear­ance work which is get­ting de­layed due to the poor work per­for­mance.

It was given in the meet­ing that the road is ex­pected to be cleared by to­mor­row evening sub­ject to clear weather con­di­tions.

The CEC and the EC R&B hailed the ef­forts of the of­fi­cers and the men and ma­chin­ery of project Vi­jayak de­ployed to clear the road from Mi­na­marg to Zero Point. They said that their ef­forts have been ap­pre­ci­ated by the coun­cil and such ges­tures are an­tic­i­pated from them in fu­ture as well.

Mean­while, the MLA Kargil Haji As­gar Ali Kar­balai has also taken up the is­sue for early clear­ance of the Kargil Srinagar road with the Ad­vi­sor to Gover­nor B B Vyas and Di­vi­sional Com­mis­sioner Kash­mir Baseer Ahmad Khan to stress upon the au­thor­i­ties of Project Bea­con to speed up the snow clear­ance work from Sona­marg side so that the stranded pas­sen­gers and ve­hi­cles from both ends of Zo­jila could cleared at the ear­li­est.
